DONNNNEEEEE 8/14Duck Puddle Campground (Almost Waldoboro) to Rockport/Camden, ME

August 14, 2012
WE"RE DONEEEEE!!!!!

I have been very ready to be done.

I'm thinking that today is our last day biking and it feels both, good and a bit sad. I'm tired so it'll be good to finally be done.

It's been good, I've enjoyed this, part of me wishes that I could make it last longer, like maybe I should jump into the ocean and just swim until I find Atlantis.

Anyway, we're done. well, not really. We have to get back home. I have a flight back on the 19th out of Boston, so I have to get there. I also have to get rid of my bike. I'm trying to find a bike shop that can ship it for me. if not, I'll rip it apart and put it in a box and mail it back to me.

8/13 Brunswick To Duck Puddle Campground(almost Waldoboro)

August 14, 2012
Kayla gets a flat part 7, I believe.

We were ready to take off for the morning (only a couple hours later than we had hoped) when we noticed that Kayla's bike was flat. We took some time to fix that and to clean up our bikes. Mine had been sounding and feeling different since the fall so some cleaning would be good.

There was a frog in the road. I saw it when I closed up on it. I was getting closer. Luckily, I did not hit it. One of the two of us was creeped out by the frog. The other picked ...

8/12 Fryeburg, ME To Brunswick

August 14, 2012
Determined. Yesterday, we only went some 40 miles. Today we wanted to cover eighty some miles. We found a shortcut which saved us 10 miles. We took 302 straight to Bridgton instead of taking 5 north to Lovell. What would've been the point of that,  I don't know. This map seems outdated.

The roads in Maine are decrepit, that is what the map said. They could be better, but they could also be better. I think the chosen routes are neither the most practical nor the best maintained. So, thank you ...

8/11 Lincoln, NH to Fryeburg, ME

August 14, 2012
We were miserable. I mean, I was miserable, I believe Kayla was as well, but I can only say with certainty that I know I was. We woke up wet. Our tent was soaked, and most of our clothes were too. I managed to find one pair of dry socks and my running shoes were also dry, mostly. That, was the highlight of my morning, dry socks when all else was soaked.

We arrived at Conway where we stayed at the laundromat for a couple hours. Dry clothes. We only made it to Fryeburg. Me. Wee, we made it to Ma...

8/10 Orford New Hampshire to Lincoln, New Hampshire

August 14, 2012
I fell off the bike

Ariving into New Hampshire was great. people seemed friendly and we had been given a low price for a good campsite. It rained the whole night before. IT POURED. Luckily, we had set up our tent under the campground shelter area, so we were dry. Luckily.

An adventurous hike welcomed us to New Hampshire by sharing some information; we would be crossing the Appalachian Trail the following day. That meant two things: We were crossing mountains again, and I don't know what else. T...

8/9 middlebury Gap to Orford, NH

August 14, 2012
It's cold now. We descended from the top of Middlebury Gap. It was a cold descent. We had camped at a closed ski resort. That, was amazing. We thought it was a national forest and it probably wasn't, but it was quiet, it was calm, it was nice. I'm enjoying my time in Vermont. Yesterday it was hot, but today it has been really chilly. We stopped in town for some well deserved coffee.

We were given an alternate route for today by one of the locals who stopped to speak to us. He suggested stay in...

8/8 Paradox to Middlebury Gap, Vermont

August 8, 2012
We woke up to the sound of a critter playing with our trash. Funny squirrel, couldn't open the bag. Trash 1, squirrel 0. Kayla laughed at said squirrel, "weaksauce, I could even open that trash." She said something like that. We stopped at Ticonderoga for Dunkin Donuts and library stuff.

8/7 Long Lake to Paradox

August 8, 2012
We stopped at High Peaks Kitchen and we ate some good food, we watched some diving stuff because that was what was on at the tv at the restaurant. They had Wi-fi too. We don't get much of that out here. It's really green and pretty here. I ran over a caterpillar. Kayla ran over a frog. I "found" some apples, yum yum.

 WE ARE FINE.

Thanks for all your texts, comments, and phone calls, and facebook like, and Instagram likes...you know who you are. The rest of you, thank you for reading this stuf...

8/6 Mckeever/Thendara to Long Lake

August 8, 2012

We are tired. I just want to finish. Kayla just wants to take some time to relax, and to go slow. Arindoracks is where we are. I see it everywhere. Today we went to a museum about it. It was amazing, Kayla sat on a huge chair. I did as well. Best museum ever. I don't know what Arindorack is

8/5 State land/ Redfield to Mckeever

August 8, 2012
Kayla ran over a turtle. She thought it was funny. We got poured on by rain. NO, WE GOT POURED ON BY RAIN. WE GOT POURED ON BY RAIN!!!!!
We were 4 miles away from a campsite. The sky turned dark, and IT POURED RAIN. A tree fell because RAIN WAS POURING.
We were lazy at Booneville. We stayed there for like two hours, maybe if we hadn't done that we would have avoided the rain. Oh well, it was fun.
There were a bunch of little kids at the campsite. Kayla stole their Gazebo when they weren't look...
