I patched up my tire with duct tape, electrical tape, and with sports tape. After the patchwork, we headed to a bike shop, hoping that my tire would hold up during the ride to the shop. The day before, I had felt lucky because even though my tire had a huge hole in it, my inner tube didn't rip, I rode on the tube for a bit and didn't get a flat. I only stopped riding because the hole eventually became large enough that the tube stuck out of the tire so much that it was hitting my brake.

Today we started in Ness city, KS. We biked continuously from 330am to 730am to some other small town, Rush Center, KS. When we arrived to Rush Center, all we wanted was food and some rest. To ensure that we left early, we didn't eat breakfast, so we were very hungry.
When we arrived to Rush Center, we were extremely tired. I was just about falling asleep on my bicycle. The night before, we didn't get much sleep and it was an especially long and tiring day. We had arrived at Ness City at 7pm...

THIS was going to be a long day, we had decided that. We had planned to head out at 4am. We managed to leave at 418am. Kayla, John, and I were determined to
cover at least 100 miles; we had to.

Day 35 pueblo to olney
We left pueblo at like 1 pm. It was hot and we decided to put off biking and we went to breakfast. I had
some spicy spicy food. We ate a muffin and a smoothie and we tried to

7/20 cotopaxi to pueblo
Today we had 35 miles of climbing before our last big descent of 45 miles into Pueblo. We covered over 80 miles, 87 total for the day. That put us at our highest-mileage day. A couple of miles after we began our day we stumbled upon two miles of hard packed gravel road. That stuff makes it difficult to bike.

Sergeants to cotopaxi... 7/19
Started the day with a mountain. It took us 3 hours to get to the top of
monarch pass, 10 miles. We went on a gondola that you can ride from
the pass to the peak to gaze at Colorado's mountains. We spotted pike's
peak.
Then, the descent from monarch's pass gave us 10 fast miles that we completed in 20 minutes.
Then, we went to cotopaxi. Along the way, we stopped at the Arkansas River, saw rafters.

Almost gunnison to sergeants 7/18
Planned to go up monarch pass today. Didnt make it. Called it a day when
we reached the bottom of it. So, right before all the climbing we
stopped.
Woke up to kayla's frantic scream. She looked scared to touch her bag,
the one where we had our food. There was red fuzzy material around the
opening and some rice-sized pieces of something that resembled a small
animal's poo. I emptied the bag contents, no foreign visitor was there.

Almost montrose to almost gunnison 7/17
The plan was to make it to Gunnison.
Ten miles to Montrose we were greeted with a city. They had a sports
authority where i bought a bag. We went to target and we visited the
post office. There, we mailed stuff that we didnt need home-backpack,
rain pants, solar charger.

Lizardhead pass to almost montrose 7/16
The plan was to make it to Montrose. Also, ridgeview for my tires. On
the way we passed some beautiful views and my phone was dead so i
couldnt take many pictures on this day, sadly. We passed the sawpit
where we got something to eat and drink then Placerville pt 2 where we
got more food, talked to a guy who didn't drive, and had decided he
wouldn't at the age of 16, he was 54. He looked young. And gave us some
advice about riding bikes at night....

7/14 Monticello to Dolores
It was a the day we would cross from Utah to Colorado. We made it.
Kayla got a flat with 10 miles to go, that's like 5 i think.
We replaced her tube and got going again. When we arrived into town, we
saw an open bike shop. Nick had just opened it up a few weeks earlier
and he didn't have much items for sale. He did have some tubes and some
Chamois so we bought that. He also took a look at Kayla's derailleurs

We didn't make it far today. From Blanding, Monticello was the next town. We took it easy and we stopped there for the day. we went to the library and updated our blogs. We stayed at what we thought was an RV Park but we weren't sure. Whatever it was, we were told it was closed due to some emergency and that we could camp there for free, so we did. Next to our campsite, we found the Peace Tree Cafe. I highly recommend that restaurant to anyone. It was delicious.

Lake powell to Blanding
Woke up at 430.
Left at 530. 80 miles to Blanding but only 76 to a gas station. Maybe they'll have an ice cream Snickers.
Tired, finishing an 80 mile day. Got 7 miles left. My shorts' padding is no more so a lot sore. 8/11 hrs was biking uphill so far today. i'm a lot sore.
It was a lot of desert but as we got closer to Blanding the terrain became greener, and slightly cooler. Unfortunately, it's still hot and I'm still drinking hot powerade.

Leaving Panguitch was not easy. Kayla's bike tire was flat when i was ready to go. We tried to buy a tube but the town didn't have any that would fit. We patched and then it would go flat again. After a few times of that we managed to leave town. The patch held....For like 15 miles. We resorted to forcing MY oversized thorn resistant spare tube into Kayla's small tires. In desperation we managed to force them in. 
The plan was to go to a bike shop and get kayla's bike looked at and get a bike tube bc right now kayla's tubes are all running on patches. Our other plan was to make a plan for the day. See, our route WAS supposed to be up a mountain for the day ____. But, due to some land slide in like october, that road is closed. Our options were to go at night or during the weekend because they have a lane open during that time. Our other option was to go to the nearest town, 20 miles away , Parowan or...
