I just wanted to update you on the trip. It's been fun so far. We got off to a rough/late start. Oh, and I see what all the fuzz is about San Francisco's hills;they are so steep, it's a bit difficult to see how people can ride bikes, drive, or even walk in some of the area. We hit 9 miles day one, 37 day two, and 81 day 3. Water has been something like 1 gallon day one, gallon and a half day two, and two and a half day three(just for me). Day one goes wrong.


THE PLAN:
Leave hotel
Head to Bridge
Begin
45 miles to campsite

ACTUAL DAY ONE:
We leave the hotel.
40 meters later, We realize Kayla's back tire has a nail in it. We head to REI...negative progress. It gets fixed..we are running late. We head to the bridge, take the CALTRAIN (bad idea), we end up going through part of san Francisco that was not meant to be ridden by bike. Here's the stairs we had to climb to get out of the train station.

Plane lands. Stop at Golden Gate Bridge. Phone rings. I dont hear it. I check the time. Four thirty. I have a missed call. The number, 650. I google the area code. Its california. It must be the bike shop. A voicemail appears.  It's them. "Hi, this is...REI in San Carlos. Just wanted to let you know we got your bike in here, it was shipped to us in San Carlos. If you want us to assemble it, it is 25 dollars. If you want to let us know". 25 d...
