We reached Nevada

I'm about to get started with day 11. Internet connection has been almost non-existent.
It took us a while to get out of California. We crossed mountains and went up to Carson pass at something like 8400 feet. To get there we deviated from our map. We reached a really good coffee/bakery shop- Sugar Lillie Bakery. There we tasted some amazing. It was a quaint little shop in El Dorado, California (one of many tiny towns). It was the most delicious brownie I have ever tasted. They sell some of their goods at Whole Foods.
At a bike shop we were given alternate directions. Those directions led us to Jenkinson lake where we camped.
When we woke up, it was cold and raining. We ended up staying at the Jenkinson Lake campground one more day.
The following morning we set off to Silver lake, about 40 miles away-ALL UPHILL.
With our heavy, loaded bikes it seemed to take forever. Oh, and we kept getting passed by bikers. It seemed odd that so many bilers were on such a hard trail. Eventually we found out that we were in the middle of a cycling even "Cycle the Sierra".
They were very friendly and let us join them at their rest stop where they had food food and more food. We departed and made our way to Silver lake. We camped again and in the morning, after a few miles, we ran into day three of "Cycle the Sierra". We didn't stop, though. We reached Carson Pass after more climbing, finally. In this picture, we thought we were almost there, it turned out we still had a long way to go.
The descent took us down at over 40 mph. My fingers were on the brakes the whole time. The wind was blowing strong and wanted to push us off the side of the road. The steep downhill eventually settled, sadly.
We made it to Nevada.
We reached Carson City, stopped at a bike shop and found a cheap motel. The next morning we headed to Fallon, nv.
