Kayla keeps talking about getting a "trail dog". I'm not sure what she means by this. I believe it would be hard, really hard to have a dog following us on this trip. She talks about it all the time, ALL the time. Sometimes i think that that is all she ever thinks about. I don't get it. Whenever we see a dog, I know she's thinking about taking it along on our trip.  At one point she mentioned a "trail cow". It may have been the heat. I think she may have thought that it would be a good idea to have it in case we got ran out of food...i told her "NO". This dog here followed us for a bit, this is the closest she's come to a "trail dog"

We left Fallon and headed for Cold Springs, which was 60 miles away. I eventually realized that Nevada's terrain consisted of a giant desert ("valley") that was broken up by mountain ranges and barely any people and houses. There was nothing in between towns, and the next few days would consist of a whole day biking from one town to the next just to refill on water. 10 miles before reaching Cold Spring Station, we stumbled upon Middlegate. Middlegate had a bar, where we stopped for a delicious  burger.

The sun was taking its toll on us, especially Kayla. We trudged onwards and reached Cold Springs just before sunset. We were warmly greeted. Cold Springs was a like an oasis in the desert. It was a great spot for camping at the end of a tiring day. They had showers, and I needed that. After a full day of biking, a shower is extremely rewarding and they had them.
