baker to Milford (Utah) 7/3

We made it to Utah. It was our longest day. 83 miles, had head wind and or uphill all day. It took us 15 hours. We lost an hour due to time zone crossing. Utah was hot. We saw a cool sunset at the end of the day. We arrived at 10pm. We had departed at 6am. We ran into some dude from Europe. He was on a bike trip too. He started on the East coast and is finishing up at San Francisco, so he is almost done...lucky. I ate a delicious burger on this day. Oh, I think I misplaced my snickers for the day, I couldn't find it.
We were told that Utah was pretty. I didn't think so until sunset. I can see some pretty cool kinda lookin' mountains to the east. It's got clouds, which Nevada didn't really have. They looked good during sunset.
I also heard that Nevada was the driest state, and that Utah is the second driest state. Moving on up?
Anyway, we are on our third state. This stretch has been difficult. We didn't train that much beforehand, or at least I didn't; my legs are constantly sore, and I'll be honest: My geography is not as great as I thought it would be. To this point I had imagined sea level, desert, and then the Rockies; I didn't know California was so mountainous, I knew it had mountains, but those were pretty tough. I didn't know Nevada was that much desert nor that much mountain. A few people have told us that it is the "most mountainous state"; it does have a ton of mountains, they are not that big but they are a lot. In Nevada we crossed way too many little mountain ranges. I didn't think that would have this much experience on mountains before the Rockies. Those are coming up eventually, and i guess now, this has felt like practice for it so, BRING IT ON 'cause it should be "PIECE OF CAKE."
