I patched up my tire  with duct tape, electrical tape, and with sports tape. After the patchwork, we headed to a bike shop, hoping that my tire would hold up during the ride to the shop. The day before, I had felt lucky because even though my tire had a huge hole in it, my inner tube didn't rip, I rode on the tube for a bit and didn't get a flat. I only stopped riding because the hole eventually became large enough that the tube stuck out of the tire so much that it was hitting my brake.

So, we went to a bike shop. John Pt 2 actually recommended that shop. There, they replaced my ripped tire. They let me know that my tire was an old make and cheap. I also bought a new bike seat since they had a comfy one. I really needed that. I had thought that I would get used to the hard seat I had, but I was mistaken. I now have a really comfortable one. We stopped at KFC on the way out of Topeka. The store owner had given us directions to Kansas City. He also gave us some town history- they had a ton of new new buildings in his area and he had to fight the city to keep his bike shop so that it didn't become just another condo building.
We were taking highway 24 out of Topeka when we stopped at the fruit farm for a cider slushee. When we got going we ran into construction that forced us onto a dirt road and that, took too long so we re-thought our route. Luckily, we were able to stay on the same route because we were offered a ride past the construction stretch to the town of Perry. We picked up riding again, and then we stopped at Lawrence where we ate a sandwich and drank a cold Litpon Ice Tea. We stopped again to purchase some sweet corn and somehow got peaches instead. Then, we made it to Tonganoxie from where Kayla's friend, Erin, picked us up and took us to her apartment in Kansas City. We ate at the Mexican Jalapenos Grill while we waited for Erin to come get us. Thanks Erin. THANKS A LOT.
